Venue Privacy Policy

Effective 16 October 2026. For the people who run a venue and use the Venue Console.

1. Introduction

This Venue Privacy Policy is issued by EL Industries Pty Ltd (ABN 66 655 026 823) ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of PubWatch. It explains how we handle information about the people who register for and use the Venue Console to manage a venue's listing. Our Privacy Policy covers everyone else who uses the website and the app, and its sections on website measurement, security and your rights apply to you as well where this Policy does not say otherwise.

2. What We Collect and Hold

2.1 Your login. The email address you sign in with, and a login identifier. Sign-in is provided by Clerk, Inc., based in the United States. Clerk holds your login details, including your password in protected form and the device and connection details of your sign-ins, under its own privacy policy at clerk.com/legal/privacy, and sends us your verified email address and the identifier, never your password.

2.2 Your request to manage a venue. The venue you ask to manage, your name and role if you give them, the email domain you registered with and whether it matched the venue's own website domain, and, where it did not, a contact number so the PubWatch team can confirm the request with the venue. We also record who approved the request and when.

2.3 What you do in the Venue Console. The prices, specials and alerts you publish, the Venue of the Week bookings you make, any caption or photo you supply, the email address of anyone you invite to manage the venue, and, for a paid placement, the business name and ABN for the receipt.

2.4 Keeping the Service safe. Counts of the requests your account makes, so that one account cannot flood the Service, and the technical data described in section 3.5 of the Privacy Policy. Your internet address is not kept against your account.

2.5 What we do not collect. We do not ask for, and do not knowingly collect, sensitive information. Please do not put it in anything you send us.

2.6 Your acceptance. The date on which you accepted the Venue Terms and this Policy, and which version you accepted, recorded against your account.

3. How We Use It

We do not use your information to advertise to you, and we do not sell, rent or trade it.

4. What Is Published and What Is Not

Prices, specials and alerts you publish are public. They are shown on the Service under your venue's name and form part of the public pricing record, which is published as open data that anyone can fetch. On the website a price you publish is marked as coming from the venue. A Venue of the Week placement, its caption and its photo are public for the week they run and may appear in PubWatch's promotion afterwards.

Your name, email address, contact number and role are never published. They are seen by us and by the other managers of your venue.

5. Who Else Sees It

We disclose information only to the service providers engaged to operate the Service, and only to the extent necessary: Clerk for sign-in, the provider that hosts the Service and its data, and the provider that delivers our email. These providers are located outside Australia, including in the United States, so your information may be stored and processed overseas. We share only the minimum required, and only with providers whose published privacy commitments are consistent with this Policy.

Where a regulator, a court or a law enforcement body asks us about something you published, we may give them your name, your contact details and what you published, as section 9 of the Venue Terms says.

The Venue Console pages carry no Microsoft Clarity recording. Our own visit counting, described in section 5 of the Privacy Policy, applies to them as it does to the rest of the website, and can be turned off there.

6. How Long We Keep It

We do not currently operate an automatic deletion schedule for the records we hold, and we would rather say so than publish a timeframe we do not keep.

7. Access, Correction and Deletion

You can change the email address you sign in with, see and manage who else manages your venue, leave a venue, and close your account, all from the Account tab of the Venue Console. To ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask for anything else to be deleted, write to [email protected] from the address you sign in with, so we know the request is yours. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information or your request, reply and tell us, and we will look at it again.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including holding as little as we can, limiting how much can be sent from one account, and restricting access to what is held. Your login is protected by Clerk, which may ask you to confirm a sign-in from a new device. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the internet.

9. Information You Give Us About Other People

When you give us information about someone else, such as the email address of a manager you invite, the name of a person who approved your request at the venue, or a photo that shows a person, you are responsible for being entitled to give it to us, for having told that person that you have, and for having their agreement where it is needed. We handle it under this Policy once we have it, and we may rely on your having had the right to give it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, and the effective date above is updated when it changes. Where a change is material we will tell you by email to the address you sign in with before it takes effect, and the Venue Console will ask you to accept the new version before you continue.

11. Contact
